THE BEST DOMESTIC FARES WE'RE SEEING THIS WEEK (AIRPORTS AROUND OUR AREA)

A few updates, some date changes, some additions: Most domestic fares have been going up - so we're digging for the best out there.

*Trick (when you're booking, look at ONE WAY fares each way just to check). Sometimes on domestic flights, that can save you 20% or more!

This is a list of the best current fares from several of our airports this week. Some are from the big carriers, some from discount airlines this week.

*Domestic Fares Notes: We sometimes put fares in here from the “discount carriers:” JetBlue, Spirit, Allegiant, etc. We typically advise people to plan for luggage fees (if you don’t pack REALLY light), and try not to use these flights for critical trips (like family weddings). We’ve taken lots of successful flights with the discount carriers - and have had overwhelmingly good results. But, when a flight gets cancelled - you’re going to be waiting a full day or more for another one. That can be a deal breaker on a lot of trips.

Then, after finding the flight details, we usually recommend booking the actual flights direct with the airlines. We also sometimes use travel services like Momondo.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com - and others. Booking with airlines directly seems to be preferable, especially when problems occur (such as flight changes, delays, booking problems, etc).
