We’ve taken lots of successful flights with the discount carriers - and have had overwhelmingly good results. But, when a flight gets cancelled - you’re going to be waiting a full day or more for another one. That can be a deal breaker on a lot of trips.

Then, after finding the flight details, we recommend booking the actual flights direct with the airlines. We also sometimes use travel services like Momondo.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com - and others. Booking with airlines directly is typically preferable, especially when problems occur (such as flight changes, delays, booking problems, etc).
